Eat Local + Information Availability

This fun advertisement made for Hellman’s, which extols the virtues of consuming local produce and meat rather than supporting import, uses a great blend of live action footage accentuated by overlaid information and animated sequences. I first watched the video without sound (feel free to try it out) and understood the gist of it quite well – a testament to its ability to communicate clearly through visuals.

In a similar vein, though realized completely differently, is this older (and by now much mentioned) initiative by Pranav Mistry at MIT labs, Sixth Sense, which endeavors to present in real time, and with interactivity, the kind of information the Hellman’s ad provides.
